MCODS Mangalore Dental Stall at “Krishi Mela”at Konaje

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education put up an Oral Health Awareness stall at the Krishi Mela held at Konaje on 8th and 9th of November, 2014. The Krishi Mela was organized by Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) in association with Mangalore University and Krishi Utsava Committee and consisted of 116 stalls. At the Mela, oral health education was given and pamphlets were distributed. Screening for oral disease was also carried out among the people visiting the Krishi Mela and those in need of dental treatment were referred to the Asaigoli nodal centre at Abhaya Ashraya for free treatment. Free toothpaste samples were also distributed. The team was headed by Dr Ramya Shenoy, Associate Professor in Public Health Dentistry.
